Manchester United target Aymeric Laporte has played down the chances of him leaving Athletic Bilbao at the end of the season.
United are looking for a top class centre-back to strengthen their squad and Laporte would fit the bill having started and completed 21 La Liga matches so far this season.
However, Laporte himself has stated he is happy at Bilbao however and said he wants to continue at the club.
Speaking about his future, Laporte said: ”Here there are many people of experience and I’m learning a lot from them.
“I have played a lot of games and I want to continue to do what I’m doing.”
Arsenal and Real Madrid have also been linked to Laporte so there will be plenty of competition for his signature if he does leave.
Laporte will not come cheap as he has a €42m release clause in his contract. It would be a lot of money for a 20-year-old but Laporte is considered one of the best young defenders playing in Europe and he would certainly bring a huge amount of quality to whoever brought him in.
