Manchester United interested in French youngster Yassin Fortune

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United have expressed an interest in signing French youngster Yassin Fortune after scouts from the club watched him play in a youth international at St George’s Park earlier this week.

The 16-year-old striker scored for France U16s against Switzerland on Wednesday in a 2-1 victory.

The Daily Mail rports Fortune, who plays for Lens U19s, will line up against England on Saturday and United’s scouts will once again be there to cast an eye on him.

The club are clearly focusing on youth recruitment given the signing of Indy Boonen on a three-year deal on Thursday.

United are also interested in signing Indy’s 13-year-old brother Seppe but he is unable to sign a contract due to his age.

20-year-old Sadiq El Fitouri, meanwhile, was brought to United from Salford City last month on the recommendation of Paul Scholes and Phil Neville.

Fortune has the same agent as Timothy Fosuh-Mensah who joined United from Ajax last year so the club will be in a good position should they wish to sign him.
