Angel di Maria looked every inch the £60m superstar when he rocked up at Old Trafford in the summer but he struggled against Swansea on Saturday.
Despite adding his eighth assist of the season for Ander Herrera‘s opening goal, Di Maria once famous pinpoint crossing was lacking and he was eased off the ball too easily.
Undoubtedly the Argentine is talented. He continues to show it in flashes and was much improved in recent games against Burnley and Preston but against Swansea he was unable to influence the game as much as he would have hoped.
He was replaced by Juan Mata with United chasing a late equaliser and fans want to see more from the man who is by far their most expensive signing in history.
Credit to the performance but yet again, Van Persie is beyond woeful & will start the next game.

Not been impressed with Di Maria in the slightest. A good start and has now become a £60m passenger

Ashley Young is better than Di Maria these days.

Di Maria, despite the assist has been bitterly disappointing… again #mufc

And despite only trailing to Cesc Fabregas in the assist ranks, Di Maria has found the net just once since then, a last minute goal against Yeovil in January.
Given the fee and expectation, fans will want to see their key man return to form. Champions League football could depend on it.
