Manchester United are set to renew their interest in Bayern Munich and Poland striker Robert Lewandowski in the summer, according to reports.
Lewandowski was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford whilst he was at Borussia Dortmund and despite a good record in his first season in Munich, hasn’t hit the heights he managed at their close rivals.
Murmurs of discontent under Pep Guardiola have helped fuel the rumours. Guardiola has since dismissed the suggestion of any rift but United may well be in the market for a new striker this summer.
is undoubtedly popular among supporters but at the moment has not justified the £43m fee that United would need to pay Monaco for his permanent services in the summer.
With the Colombian potentially on his way, United will certainly be looking for a proven goalscorer and Lewandowski has previously hinted at being interested in a move to Old Trafford.
At 26, the Polish international is in the peak years of his career and would undoubtedly be a regular starter at Old Trafford, something he hasn’t always been at the Allianz Arena this season.
