Oliver Rathbone gave Manchester United’s U18s a 1-0 victory over Derby County yesterday with a goal of the season contender.
In the 90th minute, Rathbone struck a shot from all of 35 yards that dipped viciously over the top of Derby’s goalkeeper to give Man United the win.
It was reminiscent of Wayne Rooney‘s wonderful effort last year against West Ham which was named United’s official goal of the season.

Only Marcus Rashford has scored more goals for United’s U18s season Rathbone and he is certainly enjoying a strong campaign with Paul McGuinness’ side having also scored a hat-trick back in October.
Moments like this bring youngsters into the public eye and Rathbone deserves his moment in the limelight for what was an instinctive and superb goal.
