Manchester United are looking at the possibility of bringing Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia to the club this summer report The Mirror.
Louis van Gaal has already made it clear he wants to sign a midfielder in the summer and the defensively minded Biglia fits the bill in terms of bringing balance to a midfield which is current saturated with creative players.
The 29-year-old has been a constant presence in the Lazio team this season and the report suggests the Serie A side knew of United’s reported interest in January but refused to let the Argentine leave.
Biglia, 29, has played for Argentina 27 times, including the full 120 minutes of the 2014 World Cup final, and would certainly bring plenty of experience to midfield, a commodity which Louis van Gaal‘s current squad does not have in abundance.
After the additions of Marcos Rojo and Angel di Maria in the summer, Biglia may envy the thought of joining two of his close international colleagues at Old Trafford on top of the other South American stars at the club.
Biglia won a whole host of trophies during his time in Belgium with Anderlecht and was also part of Argentina U20s side that won the U20 World Cup a decade ago in 2005.
