Manchester United were crying out for new players last season after a terrible year and Louis van Gaal duly brought in the likes of Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo to give the squad some much needed impetus.
However it was the acquisitions of Radamel Falcao and Angel di Maria which really excited Man United fans.
With world class credentials and a wealth of experience at the highest level, Falcao and Di Maria were meant to fire United straight back into the Champions League.
It hasn’t quite worked out that way, with both players suffering from indifferent seasons. We asked our Twitter followers who United’s best signing this season was and their responses are telling:
@PeoplesPerson_ Marcos Rojo has definitely although if Herrera was played more it'd be him. Shaw if we're talking about for the future.

@PeoplesPerson_ Daley Blind. Although Ander Herrera has impressed me whenever he's played.

@PeoplesPerson_ Blind. Composure, Vision, good finish and midfield balance. We've needed those badly and he's delivered.

Di Maria enjoyed a blistering start to life at Old Trafford but has struggled ever since returning from an injury at the start of 2015.
Falcao, meanwhile, has scored just four goals in 19 appearances during his spell at United. The striker is on loan at United from Monaco and the two clubs have reportedly agreed a fee should Louis van Gaal wish to keep him but it appears increasingly unlikely that he will be kept at United next season.
Instead, it is the likes of Shaw, Blind and Rojo who have made the biggest impact at United so far this campaign. Blind and Rojo in particular have provided a steady presence in the team and have endeared themselves to fans.
