The focus for Manchester United fans in the starting XI to face Sunderland will be to find out what attackers and formation we’re going to be using.
With all due respect to Sunderland, Man United are at Old Trafford and will want to put the visitors to the sword but United’s recent performances suggest that might be difficult.
With Robin van Persie injured, Wayne Rooney not firing on all cylinders and James Wilson suffering a dead leg earlier this week, United could be left with Radamel Falcao, a player who has struggled to get going this season.
Falcao has been afforded quite a number of chances yet but has yet been unable to take advantage of those opportunities. Now, with only a couple of months, Falcao simply needs to showing more of his old self, a lot more, if he is going to be offered a contract by van Gaal.
Will he? Won’t he. No matter how much Falcao can contribute more than just goals, he needs to have a barnstormer when given the chance and that could come in Saturday’s game against Sunderland.
