Manchester United loanee Nani is in constant contact with the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward amid calls for him to return to Old Trafford.
The Portuguese winger has enjoyed a fine season on loan at Sporting Lisbon and scored a wondergoal against Gil Vicente last week.
The strike was his eighth goal in 23 appearances this term and there have been calls from Man United fans for Nani to return to the club.
Nani has said he would be open to a return and revealed he has been speaking with Woodward about his progress.
Speaking about the contact, Nani said: ”I receive some texts from Ed Woodward.
“He texted me about the goal [on Sunday] and the great season I am having here.”
Nani was initially signed from Sporting in 2007 and made a promising start to life at United but his performances became too inconsistent and he found himself in and out the team.
He scored some great goals in a United shirt however, including his first ever for the club in a game against Tottenham Hotspur and a fine strike against Manchester City off the back of a wonderful team move in 2011.
Whether he can reproduce this form back at United remains to be seen but Nani would certainly provide Louis van Gaal with some good options.
