Ander Herrera performance impresses Manchester United fans

by Richard Laverty

Ander Herrera put in another classy performance in midfield as Manchester United sealed a crucial three points in a 2-0 victory against Sunderland.

Whilst not getting on the score sheet himself as he did last week, Herrera’s touch in the middle of the park was exemplary and he made the side tick as he has in recent weeks.

He was unlucky late on not to add his third goal of the month and sixth overall for United but the offside flag denied him.

It’s still bizarre why Herrera hasn’t been a regular in the United side in recent months given his current form and only Louis van Gaal knows why, but supporters are falling more and more in love with their latest Spanish import.

After failing to make a single Premier League start since the beginning of December, Herrera has now made two in a row and the only justification for not playing him at Newcastle on Wednesday would be to keep him fresh.

United do have the luxury of not playing until Monday night after the midweek games when Arsenal visit Old Trafford in the FA Cup.
