Ander Herrera is delighted Manchester United were able to earn a crucial three points over Sunderland at Old Trafford yesterday.

The Spaniard started his fourth game in succession and once again was an important presence in midfield alongside Daley Blind in the 2-0 victory.

Having had to wait for his opportunity under Louis van Gaal after being frozen out of Manchester United’s starting XI, Herrera has done very well to find and bring some much needed consistency in midfield again.

Although United were poor in terms of creativity against Sunderland, what they were very good at was winning the ball back a lot of the time in Sunderland’s half which allowed pressure to be kept at a good level all game.

With an away trip to Newcastle on Wednesday night, Man United don’t have any time to sit and rest on their laurels and the fixture list from now on isn’t looking too pretty. Bring it on.
