Manchester United fans showed their appreciation for Colombian striker Radamel Falcao when he was substituted against Sunderland on Saturday.
Fans began to lose a bit of patience with the striker when he struggled to influence an FA Cup tie against Preston and also after missing a great chance against West Ham with United trailing 1-0.
‘El Tigre’ was left out of the side to face Swansea City last weekend but injury to Robin van Persie meant a reprieve for the struggling striker against Sunderland.
Whilst he once again failed to influence the game for large parts and was constantly muscled off the ball by former United man Wes Brown, Falcao produced one moment of class to turn the game for United and his substitution was met by some big vocal support from the fans to show they are still willing him to succeed.

A superb first and second touch to bring down a cross from Ander Herrera led to him being brought down and United were rewarded a penalty for Falcao’s efforts.
Despite struggling up to that point and seemingly about to be hooked for Marouane Fellaini, fans would have expected Falcao to stay on with United no longer needing to resort to Plan B so it was a surprise to see him taken off.
Will that moment be a confidence boost for Falcao? Fans are certainly hoping it is. With an away trip to Newcastle coming up, Falcao will have another opportunity to impress on Wednesday.
