Andreas Pereira‘s future at Manchester United is a hot topic of debate among fans and over the last week, the story has developed quite rapidly in the press.
After the 19-year-old midfielder said Paul Pogba recommended Juventus to him, speculation increased as to whether he would follow the Frenchman over to Serie A and when his father confirmed PSV had been in contact over a potential move, the rumours gathered more pace.
Pereira’s agent also chipped in by stating the youngster wanted more game time at Man United, exerting some pressure on the club to renegotiate a deal which better suited him.
At the club and away from the media focus, Pereira continued to train this week but was unable to earn a place on the bench as the likes of Juan Mata, Adnan Januzaj and the returning Michael Carrick meant there was no room for him.

The lack of first-team action is where Pereira’s frustrations stem from but as a 19-year-old in his first full season as a professional, he was never going to get that this term, especially after Man United’s early exit from the Capital One Cup.
All he can do is continue training and working hard in order to earn his opportunities this season. As for whether he will in the summer, that all depends on whether United can come to an agreement with him but if he is looking for guarantees of first-team football, he may as well start looking for a new club now because he won’t be given any sort of guarantee. Nobody is ever given that.
We’re expecting new developments on this story over the next week, so keep an eye out on The Peoples Person for any updates.
