Ashley Young delighted with last minute winner against Newcastle United

Ashley Young couldn’t hide his delight after sealing Manchester United’s 1-0 win against Newcastle United with a late winner on Wednesday evening.

United had struggled to find a way past Newcastle keeper Tim Krul, who kept out efforts from Wayne Rooney and Marouane Fellaini, before Young found the net.

At the other end, Papiss Cisse and Ayoze Perez also spurned excellent opportunities for John Carver’s side.

Young eventually won a crucial three points for United by firing into an empty net after Rooney had hounded Krul into a mistake.

The 29-year-old’s performance was the latest in a string of impressive displays from Young this season.

Against Sunderland last weekend, Young was United’s most dangerous player and was a constant threat down the left flank. He has had a remarkable turnaround to his Man United career as he was often the butt of jokes during a disappointing term last year. During this campaign, Young has been United’s standout player along with David de Gea.
