The agent of Blaise Matuidi has revealed the midfielder has not yet asked to leave Paris Saint-Germain but that he may do so in the summer.
Reports from Le Parisien have suggested that Matuidi wants to leave PSG in order to test himself in the Premier League.
Phil Neville admitted earlier this year that he and David Moyes tried to sign Matuidi when they were part of the management team at Man United last season.
Matuidi’s agent, Mino Raiola, insists the 28-year-old does not want to leave PSG but anything could happen between now and the summer.
Speaking about Matuidi’s future, Raiola said: ”PSG don’t want to sell him and for the moment, and I say again for the moment, Blaise has not asked to leave.
“My work consists of staying vigilant. We signed a big contract last year, but no-one is resting on their laurels. Not Blaise, not me, not PSG. If things change between now and the summer, we’ll look at it.”
Matuidi was the latest in a series of ‘what ifs’ for Moyes and Neville at United.
The likes of Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Cesc Fabregas and Toni Kroos were also linked with the club but moves for the players never really materialised. Instead, United’s below-par squad suffered one of their worst seasons under the guidance of Moyes and the Scot was rightly sacked in April last year.
