Oliver Rathbone has won Manchester United’s Goal of the Month award for February after his fantastic late winner against Derby County.

In the 90th minute of the match, Rathbone tried a shot from all of 35 yards that dipped viciously over the top of Derby’s goalkeeper and into the net, sealing a 1-0 win for Man United’s U18s.

The 18-year-old beat a number of his more established colleagues to win the award after winning 48% of fans’ votes.

Ander Herrera‘s strike at Swansea City earned 19% while Daley Blind‘s late equaliser against West Ham United got 13%.

Rathbone is enjoying a fine goalscoring season for the U18s having scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers last year.

His goal against Derby was an unbelievable effort and a worthy winner of the award. Rathbone should enjoy his moment in the limelight as he continues his footballing development.
