The performance of Antonio Valencia in Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Monday night gave Louis van Gaal yet another problem when it comes to his team selection.
Valencia gifted Arsenal their two goals, firstly leaving Nacho Monreal for their opener before producing an awful backpass which Danny Welbeck capitalised on to score the winner.
On top of troubles with Radamel Falcao, Juan Mata and Angel di Maria, it is an issue which van Gaal could really do without.
Although Paddy McNair has also been used at right-back in the past few months, Valencia’s display could also force van Gaal to think about reinstating Rafael into the starting XI. With this in mind, we asked fans who they would like to see start at right-back against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday:
@PeoplesPerson_ Rafael no brainer

@PeoplesPerson_ Rafael, I think we’ve missed him. His energy and willingness to get forward, better crosser too!

@PeoplesPerson_ Has to be the only right back we have, surely? #Rafael

Plenty of fans would like to see Rafael against Spurs but there were a few other shouts too…
@PeoplesPerson_ Gary Neville.
— Gav (@Gavarito) March 11, 2015
@PeoplesPerson_ Rooney. Because the absence of a good player automatically means Rooney plays that position.
— Arjun Rao (@LaultyFogic) March 11, 2015
@PeoplesPerson_ Valdes could do a job

Regardless of who plays against Spurs, it is unlikely that United will defend much better than they have in recent weeks.
Arsenal could have easily had a couple more goals on Monday but there were denied only by the brilliance of David de Gea. United are rumoured to be looking for defensive reinforcements and have been linked with right-backs Dani Alves and Danilo.
