The 29-year-old winger hobbled his way out of Old Trafford after the Arsenal game with a fresh injury concern which isn’t good news for Man United as Angel di Maria is already banned for the game having been sent off on Monday.
With the race for Champions League spots about to really get kick started with Spurs’ visit this weekend, it would be a terribly timed injury from United’s perspective.
Young has been one of United’s most consistent performers in recent weeks and his rejuvenation this year under Louis van Gaal has been one of the biggest surprises of the season.
If you told 1000 United fans at this point last season that they would consider an injury to Young as a bad thing, they would have laughed but that’s a measure of how much he has improved this year.
Young still has a full week’s worth of training to work on his fitness but van Gaal won’t take a risk on him unless he feels he is ready to come back into the side.
