Manchester United: De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Smalling, Blind, Carrick, Herrera, Mata, Fellaini, Young, Rooney
Subs: Lindegaard, Rafael, Blackett, A Pereira, Januzaj, Falcao, Wilson
Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has been handed his first Premier League start since January for the game against Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.
The Spaniard had been excluded from the starting XI by Louis van Gaal but Angel di Maria’s suspension gives him a chance to impress.
Elsewhere, Phil Jones and Michael Carrick come in for Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo, who both have injuries.
Shaw’s absence means Daley Blind fills in at left-back, leaving Ander Herrera and Carrick to occupy midfield.
Ashley Young continues in the team after impressing in recent matches, while Wayne Rooney starts up top. Finally, van Gaal keeps faith with Antonio Valencia despite his two errors against Arsenal in the FA Cup on Monday. The decision means Rafael is named on the substitute’s bench once again.
