Man United’s Potential 4-3-3 vs Liverpool – Mata dropped

Juan Mata‘s performance against Tottenham Hotspur was one of the highlights of the game but despite that, there is still the distinct possibility he may find himself back on the bench for Manchester United’s next game – an away trip to Anfield.

Speaking after the game, Gary Neville said he felt Angel di Maria’s pace on the counter-attack could see Louis van Gaal bring him straight back into the starting XI having served a one game suspension following his red card against Arsenal.

For Mata, it would be cruel given how well he played against Spurs but Di Maria showed how dangerous he can be on the counter-attack away at Arsenal earlier in the season.

An away trip to Anfield is always one of the toughest games of the year and Sunday will be no different. What Louis van Gaal has to make sure he gets right is the starting XI because making it difficult for ourselves is the last thing United need.
