Valencia are looking to bring their former player Juan Mata back to the club and are preparing a £20m summer move for the Manchester United midfielder.
Mata left the Mestalla stadium to join Chelsea in 2011 before signing for Man United in 2014 and has certainly gone on to enjoy a great career after leaving the Spanish side.
Since his departure, Valencia have enjoyed a upturn in fortunes thanks to billionaire business Peter Lim who bought the club and the Singaporean is looking to bankroll a number of summer transfers.
According to the Mirror, Lim and club president Amadeo Salvo were in Manchester last weekend in order to signal their intentions to sign Mata.
He was only given a chance against Spurs due to the suspension of Angel di Maria and although he took full advantage of that, the Argentinian is expected to come straight back into the starting XI this weekend against Liverpool.
Mata is a firm favourite among the terraces and deservedly received a standing ovation against Spurs when he was substituted on 77 minutes after his great performance which is indicative of his relationship with fans.
Despite a frustrating personal season, Mata has given no indication he wants to leave United but fans will be concerned over his future.
