Manchester United midfielder Angel di Maria knows every game the club plays between now and the end of the season will be crucial as they bid to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Louis van Gaal’s side are currently fourth in the table, two points ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool but everything is far from secure at the top of the table.
Man United face a number of tough fixtures over March and April, including fixtures against Manchester City, Chelsea and Everton, meaning everything is still to play for.
Di Maria is ready and available having sat out the 3-0 win over Spurs through suspension and insists United will need to be on top form in every game, starting with Liverpool on Sunday.
Speaking about United’s fixture list, Di Maria said: “We are all aware that a number of big games are just around the corner, and the season will be decided by these fixtures.
“We know all about these upcoming games and we have been thinking and talking about them for quite some time now. We’ve known that everything would be at stake over this final period of the season.
“Everyone at the club is 100 per cent confident, we know we want to get back into the Champions League and that we want to be fighting it out. We’ll battle hard right to the end of the season. From what I know of the club, United always fight right to the end and that’s what we’re going to do.”
United cannot afford to slip up in the top four race and face nine Cup finals as they head into the tail end of the campaign.
With the team out of the FA Cup, United can have no excuses when it comes to delivering the goods. It will be a massive game against Liverpool this weekend and one that will go a long way to deciding who finishes in those all important places.
