If ever there was an appropriate time for Manchester United to upload a picture of some dressing room celebrations, it is away at Anfield.
For the first time in effectively a decade, Man United didn’t just come away from Anfield with three points, they came away having put in a convincing performance which completely deserved a win.
The first 35 minutes in particular were special. Away at Anfield you expect to see United put under intense pressure straight away but instead, United had 65% possession in the first half. It was almost unprecedented, Gary Neville certainly thought it was.
But Juan Mata‘s goals were the defining moments of the game. Both were special in their own right but scoring a scissor kick to win at Anfield? Goals don’t get much more special than that and Mata will remember that for the rest of his life.
United will be celebrating tonight and so they should because they used the performance against Spurs last week as a springboard and excelled at Anfield, a ground where United have struggled so much in the past decade,
