Sir Alex Ferguson interrupts Michael Carrick interview with cheeky nudge

by Sam Peoples

Sir Alex was at Anfield yesterday watching on from the stands as Manchester United demolished Liverpool 2-1.

He would have been delighted with what he saw on the pitch because Louis van Gaal‘s side put in the sort of dominant performance Fergie’s side struggled to do very often at Anfield.

For the first 40 minutes it was all United and although Liverpool had a mini resurgence later on, Juan Mata‘s special goal was enough to secure all three points.

After the game, Michael Carrick was giving an interview to Sky Sports when Fergie walked past and the ex-United boss gave Carrick a little nudge, just to make sure he knew he was there.

Yesterday in his first game at Anfield, van Gaal achieved a dominance even Fergie only managed a few times as manager and means the United boss has completed the double over the scousers at the first time of asking. Not a bad start at all Louis.
