Manchester United continue to monitor Aleksandar Dragovic – report

Manchester United are continuing to monitor Dynamo Kiev centre-back Aleksandar Dragovic ahead of a potential move in the summer, according to the Mirror.

Louis van Gaal was reportedly close to signing the 24-year-old in January but the club couldn’t push through the transfer.

Although Mats Hummels is Man United’s primary defensive target, the club have kept their options open by keeping an eye on Dragovic.

If United do decide to go for the defender, who has been valued at £12m, they will face competition from Arsenal and Roma.

Van Gaal’s squad suffers from a lack of depth at the back, meaning the Dutchman has been forced to throw youngsters Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett in at the deep end at various points this season.

Thankfully for United, they have been kept in contention for a top four spot due to the brilliant form of David de Gea.

Dragovic is considered a relatively raw talent but van Gaal has proven during his spell at United so far that he can bring out the best in his players if they have the right attitude.
