Manchester United will not sell Angel di Maria – report

Manchester United will not sell Angel di Maria despite the Argentine’s downturn in form, according to ESPN.

There have been rumours that Di Maria will be let go in the summer after the Argentine reportedly fell out with Louis van Gaal following the 2-1 victory against Liverpool last weekend.

However, Man United are adamant they will not give up on Di Maria as executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward worked so hard to secure his move from Real Madrid last year.

There is a belief within the club that Di Maria will eventually show the form which made him one of the world’s most dangerous players.

Di Maria was said to be unhappy with van Gaal’s tactical instructions during the Liverpool game but ESPN reports the 27-year-old was one of the few players who was actually been given licence to express himself on the pitch.

Given the huge fees that were involved in bringing Di Maria to Old Trafford, it did seem unlikely the club would simply going to let him go after just one year in England.

The player needs to focus on his game in the same way that Juan Mata has. After spending a number of weeks on the bench, the Spaniard produced a pair of superb performances against Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool. Di Maria should learn from his teammate if he wants to succeed at United.
