Will Keane set to make Sheffield Wednesday comeback from injury

Sheffield Wednesday manager Stuart Gray has revealed Manchester United loanee Will Keane is back in training as he steps up his return from injury.

Keane was sidelined with an ankle injury but the international break will give him time to work his way back to full fitness.

The 22-year-old will be hoping to line up in the Owl’s Championship clash with Huddersfield at the start of April.

Gray believes his squad will be strengthened by the return of Keane as the club look to finish the campaign strongly.

Speaking about Wednesday’s injury situation, Gray said: “We’re looking a lot healthier. Will Keane had a light training session and is likely to join in full training on Monday.”

Keane has spoken of how a good loan spell at Hillsborough could help him make an impact at Man United next season so he will be eager to get back in the starting XI.

The youngster’s three goals in 11 appearances gives him a decent platform to build on. James Wilson, Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett are all in Louis van Gaal’s current thinking and there is no reason why Keane can’t do the same next term.
