Daley Blind: David de Gea has got better in every way

Daley Blind believes Manchester United keeper David de Gea has improved every aspect of his game this season.

De Gea’s performances have been nothing short of brilliant this term and the Spaniard has played a vital role in Man United’s assault on the top four of the Premier League.

Undoubtedly the standout player in Louis van Gaal’s debut season, De Gea deserves all the plaudits that are coming his way.

Blind added to the praise and revealed that the 24-year-old’s form has inspired confidence throughout the United squad.

Speaking about De Gea, Blind said: ”David is doing a great job here this season. He’s one of the best keepers in the world at the moment. We’re very happy that he’s in the goal and he has made some great saves. All the credit goes to him. He works very hard and is getting better all the time.

“His shot-stopping is one of his best skills but you also have to look at how he plays [with his feet] and how he comes for crosses – the way he has improved that is very impressive.

“He has got better in every way. The skills when he is saving goals and also the skills with his feet – they make him an all-round keeper and that’s one of the best things about him.”

De Gea is widely considered to be the best goalkeeper in the world right now but he doesn’t appear to have convinced Vincent del Bosque.

The Spain boss selected Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas ahead of De Gea for his side’s crucial Euro 2016 qualifier against Ukraine last week. However, Louis van Gaal will not be complaining as it gives De Gea a rest ahead of United’s crucial run of fixtures in April.
