Radamel Falcao’s goalscoring form on the international break will no doubt lead to lots of questions about not only whether he should start against Aston Villa but where he would fit into the starting XI.
If Falcao comes back into the team, then either Wayne Rooney has to be dropped from his striker’s role where he has been excelling or Louis van Gaal changes his formation. For this potential line-up, we’ve opted for the latter.
One partnership which has never really had much opportunity to flourish is Rooney and Falcao up front. While Robin van Persie and Falcao alongside each other simply doesn’t work because they are too similar, there’s a good chance Rooney could be a great partner for the Colombian.
It all depends on whether van Gaal wants to stick with the same XI which won against Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool and whether he feels now is the right time to use Falcao.
