Lots of Manchester United fans tuned into MUTV tonight to see Memphis Depay in action and the Dutch winger showed off his fantastic footwork with a piece of skill in the first-half.
Depay spun on the ball and took it past three Spain defenders in one move including ex-Man United defender Gerard Pique. He then pinged a 40-yard cross field pass off just a few seconds later that went straight to his team-mate.
It was a class piece of quick thinking from a player who is firmly in the spotlight right now.
Throughout the first-half, Depay was a constant thorn in Spain’s side and he forced David de Gea into a smart save at one point with a curled effort from outside the box.
He also played a part in Netherlands’ second goal when he laid the ball across the box before it was eventually lashed in past the helpless De Gea.
