Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Bryan Robson…Ander Herrera?
Alright, maybe it’s slightly (far) too early to put Manchester United midfielder Herrera in the same bracket as those legends but the Spaniard has undoubtedly made a superb start to his Old Trafford career.
Intelligent, as well as being creative, the 25-year-old has an insatiable appetite for the ball and dominated the midfield in United’s superb victories against Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool recently along with Michael Carrick.
Herrera has also impressed off the pitch after visiting old club Real Zaragoza over the international break in what was a nice touch from him to show he hasn’t forgotten his roots.
The player has quickly established himself as a fans’ favourite at the club and he looks like he is winning over Louis van Gaal too.
He has a long way to go to match the feats of Scholes, Keane and Robson but he can be as good as he wants to be. Having been left out of Spain’s squad for the international break, he will be ready and raring to go against Aston Villa this weekend.
