Herrera was excellent from start to finish at Old Trafford and scored twice in the win.
As well as his goals, the Spaniard dominated the middle of the park and showcased an impressive range of passing.
Herrera was delighted with the win but warned his teammates that they must remain focused in the race to finish in the top four of the Premier League.
Speaking about the game, Herrera said: “It was a great day, one of the best in my professional career of course.
“The first time I have scored twice in my professional career, so of course I am very happy. It is not finished, we have to fight, there are still seven more games and the next one is a derby. It’s very important for us, very important for our supporters as well.
“Now, I think we’re on the road right, we’re in the right form, in a good moment and we are ready for the derby.”
Herrera is now on seven goals for the season and it would be no surprise to see him hit double figures between now and the end of the campaign.
No midfielder has achieved that feat for United since Paul Scholes in the 2004/05 season. Herrera isn’t really known for his goals so it is good to see the 25-year-old add them to his already impressive repertoire for United.
