Manchester United keeper David de Gea has expressed his delight following the 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday.

Ander Herrera opened the scoring for Man United before Wayne Rooney doubled their advantage with a superb strike in the 79th minute.

Christian Benteke quickly pulled a goal back for Villa but Herrera grabbed his second to seal a fine three points for Louis van Gaal’s side:

De Gea was happy with the win and praised his teammates as they closed in on their goal of finishing in the top four of the Premier League:

Although De Gea was at fault for Benteke’s goal, it is safe to say fans will forgive him following an excellent campaign from the Spaniard.

Real Madrid have been strongly linked with a move for the 24-year-old but maybe, just maybe, his mistake will put them off a potential transfer. However, we won’t be getting our hopes up!
