Ander Herrera continued his excellent form with his first brace for Manchester United against Aston Villa on Saturday.
The Spaniard’s double took him to five for the season in the Premier League and ensured United moved eight points clear of Liverpool in the race for top four.
Herrera came into the game in top form having starred since returning to the starting line-up in February, providing the excellent pass for Juan Mata‘s opener at Anfield two weeks ago.
Despite the arrivals of Radamel Falcao and Angel Di Maria last summer, Herrera is certainly ensuring he is the most popular of the summer signings among United supporters.
Always love to see Herrera. He's our next Paul Scholes. He can score, he can defend, he can tackle and he can create so many chances.

I think a lot of United fans have a new favourite player. Hard-working, humble, courteous, tough-tackling, creative & scores goals. #Herrera

Woodward and the scouting team in Spain deserve a Nobel Prize for getting Herrera to United.

Two more goals today makes it even harder to believe that Ander Herrera couldn't get in the team at the start of the season.

Ander Herrera is the bee's knees, cat's pyjamas, crow's ankles and dog's bollocks.

The two strikes took Herrera to seven for the season overall including his excellent effort in the FA Cup at Yeovil back in January.
It appears now almost unbelievable that Herrera was stuck on the bench for so long whilst United stuttered at Christmas and it may be the one decision Louis van Gaal regrets within his own mind.
