For all the frustrations and indecisions, there is only one main thing football fans want to see from referees – consistency.
Unfortunately, it is seemingly the hardest thing to get.
Earlier this season, Joe Hart went head to head with Michael Oliver. He turned a blind eye.
In an incident which came after, Angel di Maria was sent off after pulling on Oliver’s shirt.
Tonight, Vincent Kompany put his hands on Oliver. He turned a blind eye.

Where’s the consistency in those decisions? There isn’t any at all and the FA really needs to take a look into it.
On far too many occasions this season, poor refereeing decisions have dominated the headlines after a match. That won’t be the case from tonight’s game between Crystal Palace and City but there simply needs to be more consistency.
