Manchester United linked with Leeds United midfielder Lewis Cook – report

Manchester United will compete with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool for the signature of Leeds United wonderkid Lewis Cook in the summer, according to the Express.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign under Neil Redfearn, impressing scouts from the Premier League and his form has seen Leeds value Cook at £12m having agreed a new contract with him earlier in the season.

Cook was part of the England U17s side that won the UEFA European U17s Championship last year and he has also represented England at U18s level.

It appears United are on the lookout for young English talent after reports earlier this week suggested they were also looking at Fulham’s Patrick Roberts.

Sir Alex Ferguson famously brought through the likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville and Gary Neville back in 1992 and fans would be delighted to see some new youngsters make a similar impact.

Of course, Leeds and United share a famous rivalry but that shouldn’t come into Cook’s thinking if he decides to make a move, although it will certainly come in Leeds’.
