Ben Amos to leave Manchester United in the summer – report

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United keeper Ben Amos will leave Old Trafford in the summer with a number of Premier League and Championship clubs interested in him, according to ESPN.

Amos recently returned to Man United after a successful loan spell at Bolton Wanderers in which he won the club’s Player of the Month award for March.

It is highly unlikely he will get in the starting XI ahead of David de Gea and Victor Valdes and the 24-year-old has accepted he must leave United in search of regular first-team football.

Bolton manager Neil Lennon recently hinted he may look to sign Amos permanently in the summer but a number of other teams are also said to be chasing his signature.

It is good to see Amos in demand after a number of years spent in the wilderness at United.

The player genuinely loves United and he is highly regarded at the club but unfortunately his progress has been thwarted by De Gea, Valdes and Edwin van der Sar.

Amos still has his whole career ahead of him and will no doubt flourish when he establishes himself as a no.1 at a different club.
