Monaco midfielder Joao Moutinho believes Radamel Falcao is still a quality player despite his struggles at Manchester United.
Falcao joined Man United on loan from Monaco last summer but he has only scored four goals during a troubled spell at Old Trafford.
Speaking about Falcao, Moutinho was full of praise for him and insisted his former teammate has the quality to succeed wherever he ends up: ”Whatever the club he would make a great impact.
“Now he is struggling at United a little, but his qualities remain enormous. For me he is a phenomenon. With his features, he can do great things in any team and in any league.”
Falcao has been linked with the likes of Juventus and Real Madrid in recent weeks as it appears increasingly likely that he will leave United.
Fans will be hoping history does not repeat itself with the 29-year-old given the fortunes of Diego Forlan after he left the club. Forlan had a disappointing spell at United himself but flourished once he left and eventually played a starring role in the 2010 World Cup.
