Manchester United will make a move for Sami Khedira after his contract at Real Madrid expires in the summer, according to Mail Online.
As well as Khedira, Louis van Gaal is also said to be interested in Paris St Germain’s Blaise Matuidi and Borussia Dortmund pair Ilkay Gundogan and Mats Hummels.
Khedira will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season after he recently confirmed he will leave Madrid.
The German’s season has been blighted by injury but he is undoubtedly a quality player and one who would improve any squad should he keep fit.
Meanwhile, United will revive their interest in Matuidi after David Moyes unsuccessfully tried to sign him last year.
Energetic and tough tackling, the Frenchman would give United some quality depth in the middle of the park.
The same goes for Gundogan, although there also question marks over his long-term fitness. As for Hummels, all signs are pointing to his arrival at Old Trafford this summer. Dortmund have dropped several hints that the 26-year-old is looking for a move away from the club and the departure of manager Jurgen Klopp may further discourage Hummels from staying.
