Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has been nominated for the PFA Players’ Player and Young Player of the Year awards.

De Gea is enjoying his finest season in a Man United shirt and has regularly rescued the team with some sensational saves.

The Spaniard is joined by Diego Costa,Philippe Coutinho, Eden Hazard, Harry Kane and Alexis Sanchez in the Players’ Player category.

Meanwhile, Thibaut Courtois, Coutinho, Hazard, Kane and Raheem Sterling will compete with De Gea for the Young Player award.

The nominations are richly deserved for De Gea, who has saved United so many points this season. Without the 24-year-old, United would certainly not be in the strong position that they are now.

Although Manuel Neuer was nominated for the Ballon D’or earlier this year, goalkeepers often go under the radar compared to strikers and midfielders.

It is good to see De Gea getting some recognition, although he has stiff competition in Hazard and Kane. Both players have made similar impacts at Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur respectively and are also deserving of any honours that come their way.
