Juan Mata is looking forward to playing Chelsea this weekend in what will be his first visit to Stamford Bridge since joining Manchester United.
As he joined back in January 2014 after Man United had already faced Chelsea twice, the 26-year-old has had to wait a full 15 months before facing off against Jose Mourinho‘s side on their home turf.
In terms of form, the game couldn’t come at a better time for Mata. He has been unstoppable for United over the last few weeks and followed up a standout performance away to Liverpool with another silky game against Manchester City in the derby.
The game itself has changed somewhat from United’s perspective following an unfortunate series of injuries but with Mata so in-form, Louis van Gaal will no doubt be hoping the added bonus of playing against his previous club will give him that added impetus to perform well.
I got back to London a few times, but this one it's different… Big game, lots of memories, great day of football! pic.twitter.com/u4xEKNkAUZ
