Radamel Falcao fails to impress Man United fans during rare start

by Richard Laverty

Radamel Falcao was gifted his first start since the 2-0 win over Sunderland as Manchester United went to Chelsea chasing their seventh win on the bounce.

Defensive injuries during the week meant Wayne Rooney had to revert to his midfield role, allowing Falcao one last chance up front.

The first half was another frustrating 45 minutes of football for ‘El Tigre’, he couldn’t get on the ball and appeared to be fouled in the build-up to Chelsea’s winner.

Some fans are quickly running out of patience with the beleaguered striker, despite a better second half performance in which he hit the post after some good work to create the chance for himself.

Whilst some were exasperated with the Colombian, quite a few had sympathy for the lack of service to Falcao.

Many supporters clearly have an emotional attachment to Falcao and want him to succeed whenever he puts the red shirt on, his previous records at Porto and Atletico Madrid seemingly buying him time with supporters.

But with time ticking down on his loan deal, it appears now there is next to no chance of United turning his deal into a permanent one this summer.
