The agent of Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has made contact with Liverpool over a potential move for the Colombian in the summer, according to the Express.
Falcao signed for Man United on loan from Monaco last year but has failed to make an impression at Old Trafford. Having scored just four goals since arriving at the club, it is more than likely that he will be sent back to France at the end of the campaign.
Reports now suggest that Falcao’s agent, Jorge Mendes, appears keen on him staying in the Premier League with Liverpool as it looks like players such as Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert will leave Anfield in the summer.
It would be an odd move for Liverpool as there is no guarantee that Falcao will get back to his best form next season and any potential transfer could anger United fans as they have stood by the 29-year-old despite his dramatic downturn in form.
Fans would love Falcao to stay at United and turn into the goalscoring machine which earned him such a fearsome reputation around Europe but after the season he has had, it would be very hard for Louis van Gaal to justify a move for him. As such, Falcao’s exit from Old Trafford is what most fans expect at the end of the season.
