Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Manchester United target Memphis Depay, according to Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink.
Depay, who has scored 20 goals in 27 Eredivise appearances from the wing for PSV Eindhoven this season, has been strongly linked with a move to Man United since the start of the year.
Despite rumoured interest from Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain, United were said to be the overwhelming favourites to sign the 21-year-old.
However, Bayern now appear to have thrown their hat into the ring when it comes to securing his signature.

Fans will be hoping that Depay’s strong relationship with Louis van Gaal will convince the player to move to United rather than Germany. The pair worked together at the 2014 World Cup and van Gaal is said to be something of a father figure to Depay.
Meanwhile, Bayern already have Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben at the club so there is no guarantee that Depay would be a regular starter.
As for the reports, it all plays perfectly into PSV’s hands because they would love a bidding war to emerge for him and the cynical eye may see these latest stories tying very well into that narrative.
