Manchester United plot move for Sevilla’s Carlos Bacca – report

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United are keen on Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca and will attempt to sign him in the summer, according to the Telegraph.

The 28-year-old has scored 21 goals this season will cost Man United £15m should they wish to bring him in.

Arsenal and Liverpool are also said to be interested in Bacca but United are favourites to sign the player.

United are on the lookout for more attacking options as the misfiring duo of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao are both set to leave the club.

The Chelsea game last weekend summer up how much United are lacking in depth when it comes to options up front.

Wayne Rooney was forced to play in midfield following injuries to Michael Carrick and Daley Blind but Falcao had a minimal impact on the game as his replacement.

With van Persie also going through an indifferent season it is clear that United need to strengthen the position in the summer. Bacca would go a long way towards doing that and would be relatively cheap compared to the likes of Edinson Cavani and Paulo Dybala.
