Internacional midfielder Rodrigo Dourado has admitted that he “dreams” of playing for a big club such as Manchester United.
Dourado was watched by Man United scouts last week as he helped Internacional secure a 4-0 win over Universidad Chile in the Copa Libertadores.
Often likened to Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets, Dourado has a good range of passing and takes up intelligent positions on the pitch.
The player himself welcomed interest from United and other big European clubs but insisted that he is focused on Internacional for the time being.
Speaking about his future, Dourado said: ”Every player dreams of Bayern, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United. But today, it was so difficult to become a professional at Internacional.
“I’m focused here and want to stay very focused here.”
It would be hard for any young player to not have his head turned by United as they are one of the world’s biggest clubs.
Fans may have been hoping for a more established name given the fact that United have been linked with moves for the likes of Paul Pogba and Kevin Strootman but they clearly see something in Dourado if they are willing to send representatives to Brazil to watch him. Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra were relatively unknown too before United made them into household names.
