Gareth Bale was delighted with Javier Hernandez after the on-loan Manchester United man became Real Madrid’s goalscoring hero with a late winner to earn them a place in the Champions League semi-final.
Chicharito was in the right place at the right time to sweep home a pass from Cristiano Ronaldo into the net to finally break the deadlock with Atletico Madrid and it ultimately proved to be the winner in a cagey 1-0 win for Los Blancos.
The 26-year-old has had to deal with a very peripheral role at Madrid this year but was given centre stage thanks to Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale being injured.
It was in fact Bale’s injury which allowed Hernandez a place in the team but the Welshman was ecstatic to see the Mexican scoring and it keeps their hopes of becoming the first ever team to retain the Champions League alive:

Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney also sent their congratulations to Chicharito:
@CH14_ Yes congrats mate

After a season of frustration and disappointment at Madrid, Chicharito has now scored when it mattered most and will have earned himself the backing of the fans with that effort.
