Manchester United’s best XI vs Everton

by Ben Topliss

A number of injuries left Manchester United on the back foot before a ball had even been kicked against Chelsea last weekend and it looks like history will repeat itself against Everton on Sunday.

Michael Carrick, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind were all ruled out of the clash, meaning players such as Paddy McNair had to fill in.

As it panned out, Man United were excellent during the game and could count themselves unlucky to lose the match.

Against Everton, Blind is the only player who may have a chance at starting the fixture and fans will be hoping he does so Wayne Rooney can play up front.

Blind’s inclusion would also give Marouane Fellaini more license to move forward, which he has done to devastating effect in recent weeks.

Elsewhere, McNair and Luke Shaw continue their roles at the back for Louis van Gaal’s side.

The pair were both excellent against Chelsea and will be hoping for more of the same at Goodison Park. It is not the best side that United could put out, but they would still be confident of getting a positive result should they line up like this on Sunday.
