After 50 minutes of Manchester United’s lacklustre defeat to Everton, fans were calling in unison for the introduction of record signing, Angel Di Maria.
The Argentinian was finally introduced with half an hour to go, but Di Maria again struggled to make any impact on the game.
One lovely through ball to fellow sub Radamel Falcao yielded a half chance, but besides that it was another frustrating performance from the Argentine.
Whilst supporters wanted to see him introduced, many were worried about his lack of influence on the game:
Di Maria had half hour and made no impact. That’s a massive issue from this game. #MUFC

Worried about Falcao? No, he’s on loan. Worried about Di Maria? Fuck yeah. He’s our player! He gave the ball away everytime he touched it

How utterly shocking was Di Maria though? He was so bad it was scary. Honestly wouldn’t care if we binned him in summer.

Di Maria totally ineffective when introduced again, surely a player of his ilk should have greater influence. Something not right with him

Di Maria is suppose to be a player you count onto the most when your in need of something special. How many times has he done that for us?

Whilst speculation over Di Maria’s long-term future at the club has died down of late, fans will want to see a vast improvement going into next season given the fee the club parted with to bring him in from Real Madrid.
Di Maria hasn’t scored a Premier League goal since the return fixture against Everton in October, adding one solitary FA Cup goal to his tally against Yeovil Town back in January.
