Van Persie included in Manchester United U21s squad to face Fulham

by Sam Peoples

Robin van Persie is back with Manchester United’s U21s tonight for their trip to face Fulham.

The 31-year-old striker played in Man United’s previous U21s game against Leicester and came off the bench in the latter stages of the game at the weekend in the 3-0 loss to Everton to make his first senior appearance since Swansea away.

Adnan Januzaj, Tyler Blackett and Andreas Pereira are all included in the U21s squad tonight as well.

With United currently sitting top of the U21s Premier League, it’s an important game for Warren Joyce’s side after dropping points to Leicester last week and having four first-team squad players in the team does give United a real edge on Championship side Fulham.

Here is the squad in full: Anders Lindegaard, Kieran O’Hara; Tyler Blackett, Sadiq El-Fitouri, Andy Kellett, Donald Love, Tom Thorpe; Sean Goss, Liam Grimshaw, Adnan Januzaj, Andreas Pereira, Joe Rothwell, James Weir, Matty Willock; Ashley Fletcher, Robin van Persie.

We’ll bring you news on the starting XI as soon as it is released. Kick-off is at 7pm, live on MUTV.
